Why do we think happiness is the ultimate goal of humanity? Happiness is simply a feeling. In fact, happiness is a very unproductive, selfish, and inexpressive feeling. Happy people are content, and content people are satisfied. If you have satisfaction, you contribute nothing.

Perhaps we should value something other than happiness. Perhaps we should value desire. Perhaps we should value creativity. Perhaps we should value acceptance, and openness, and the ability to realize one's own mistakes of fighting that which is weak.

Perhaps we, I, should value something that we, I, do not possess.
