We used to primarily learn things from people we knew, and the people we knew usually knew each other.

Now we primarily learn things from people we don't know, and the people we know usually don't know each other.

The result of this is that the variety of what we know has increased.
But the usefulness of what we know has decreased.

And we belong to tribes made of people we may never meet.

Our next great artists will be lost within the noise. Our cities and monuments are to rise from the imaginations of our bankers and lawyers.

If the car brought us suburbia, the "driverless" car will surely give us a super-suburbia...

You don't know what you're talented at until you see what other people can't do.

Living in the present means 1) never finishing anything you start, and 2) never starting anything with the thought of finishing it.

Things are great.  That may very well be a bad thing, as it means the future will hold some pretty awful stuff for me just to balance things out.  Perhaps I should find some problems to deal with soon...
