She suffered from perhaps the most common affliction: she was convinced there was something wrong with her.
Being productive involves a lot of wasted time.
I'd like to take a moment to thank our boys in the military.
And their families.
And the taxpayers.
And the government contractors.
And the brave congressmen, without whom none of this would have been possible.
Memoirs of a cop... from someone who sees all the awful shit in the world, knowing they can't solve it.

Is it the job of the police to just protect the "idea" of a safe world? A bubble for the fortunate to isolate them from what's out there? Are we just protecting our consciences from the tremendous guilt of not being able to help everyone?
School only teaches you how to imitate success.
To live a life of pride is shameful. To not desire a life worth being proud of is worse.
