In an ideal world, we would be notified of things that are important to us, and able to easily check in on things that are of interest to us. Instead, we are notified of things that might be of interest, and need to constantly check in to catch things that are important. You can't miss a day.

The fact that my computer, purchased nearly 8 years ago, still does a remarkable job of fulfilling my needs is either a testament to the incredible quality and versatility of the machine, or a sign that I haven't come very far since then.

If life naturally finds a balance of good and bad, I'm either making up for a lot of unpleasant years in my youth, or in for a lot of trouble in the future.

In this age of innovation, complexity, and interaction, it's amazing how many people do the same thing everyday.
